Specifically geared for photographers and enthusiasts, Rey Mendoza, professional Photographer and Photoshop guru shows how to enhance photos and transform them into stunning images, in the shortest time possible. The one day course covers the basics of correcting, retouching, beautiful black and white conversion by understanding colors, sharpening for print and web and professional color correction.

Attendees should have a basic understanding of Photoshop, this is an intermediate to advanced course.

Final Exam – Principles of Design and Color Theory

Announcement: Final Exam for Principles of Design and Color Theory (MMA 1-1)

Scheduled on March 23; friday 10am-12am
Scope of Exam: Practical Exam, no written exam.

EXAM:

  • Using the concepts and skills you have learned, create a 8×10 poster

Deliverables:

  • Poster
    • Subject: Select a line in the book of Proverbs (Holy Bible) and create a poster (graphic design) that describes those bible lines
    • Example of Proverbs;
      • Proverbs 8:11 For Wisdom is more precious than jewels, and nothing else is so worthy of desire.
      • Proverbs 3:3 Do not pick a groundless quarrel with anyone who has done you no harm.
      • Proverbs 4:13 Hold fast to discipline, never let her go, keep your eyes on her, she is your life.
      • Deliverables
        • 8×10 Printout with watermark
        • A blogpost of your poster with notes on how you designed the poster
          • specify the color scheme you used
          • composition principles
          • additional notes

        • On a CD or DVD – submit all the digital files (jpg only) of your work (previous), include the final exam (poster)

Announcement: Final Exam for 2D Animation (MMA 2)

Scheduled on March 24; Saturday 3:30-5:30

Scope of Exam: Practical Exam, no written exam.

Deliverables:

  • Final version of 2DAnimated movie
  • Save as avi, mp4 or quicktime format
  • Uploaded to youtube or vimeo, send link to reymendoza@gmail.com
  • Comment on this blog post and write the link of your video on the comment area
  • Saved in a CD, make sure you have proper labels and name on it
    • Make a 2dAnimation folder and save your files there
    • Include the previous works inside the a sub-folder
  • Deadline for Submission is march 24, 5pm, no extensions

 

Final Exam – Creative Photography

Announcement: Final Exam for Creative Photography (MMA 2)

Scheduled on March 24; Saturday 9am-11am

Scope of Exam: Practical Exam, no written exam.

Deliverables:

  • HDR (High Dynamic Range) Panorama
  • Deliverables
    • 8×10 Printout with watermark (see format of photo below)
    • A blogpost of your HDR panorama with notes on how you achieved the photo
    • Send the link to reymendoza@gmail.com
    • Comment on this blogpost and and write the link on the comment area
    • Instructions
      • Using concepts and skills you have learned, specifically in HDR and panoramic photography
      • To create HDR – take a t least 3 different exposures of same photo in a tripod
      • To create panorama – take multiple shots , with overlap of 25%
      • In photoshop – use File>Automate>Photomerge to create a panorama out of your HDR photos
      • Submit the printed output on on March 24; Saturday 9am-11am, no extensions
